This week I have really been faced with the words of “Life is too short”. Do you ever have those days or weeks or months, when something you’ve known for a long time really shows up and plays a huge role in your life?
Maybe it is something that your grandparents told you a long time ago or a cliche saying like mine, but for whatever reason it really hits home at a particular time in your life.
This week the kids are driving me crazy, a dear friend approached me with some really difficult news, the meal planning has been lazy, the budget has gone out the window, the exercise routine went along with it, my kids are suffering from the world’s worst allergies, and to top it off the house is a disaster and I have zero motivation to do anything about it.
Yes, both of these actually happened in the same morning
Then this morning, my sweet daughter didn’t argue with me while getting ready and my son didn’t throw a fit every time I walked out of the room. Yes, it was those two tiny things that got me. It made me think back to my friend who is having these huge, awful, events happening in her life right now and I realized that it doesn’t matter if my house is a disaster, or if I haven’t gone for a run in four days, or if the family might eat pizza for the second time this week. I have this one life to live. I also have the ability to choose what each day is going to look like. So I hugged my kids, told them I love them, I got myself ready, I filled every diffuser in the house with some Refresh Purifying Blend (so at least my house smells clean), layered the Zen Grounding Blend on myself, and decided that today is going to be great day.
Go outside, spend time with your family, hug them, go down the slide, jump on the trampoline, play in the grass, stop and smell the flowers, because life is too short to not enjoy the little moments.
