Rosewood Essential Oil

It may be the end of the “month of love”, but we are continuing the love by welcoming a new oil to our line up: Rosewood! Rosewood has been used for many years to make beautiful furniture and flooring, but did you know the essential oil from the wood has so many amazing therapeutic properties? From being an analgesic and antiseptic to an aphrodisiac, calmative and spasmolytic, Rosewood is a dynamic oil you won’t regret adding to your holistic arsenal.

Rosewood/Bois de Rose (Aniba rosaeordora) Essential oil has a characteristic aroma that’s warm, spicy, woody, fruity, floral and enlivening. It’s alluring fragrance has been widely lauded in the perfume industry, but its therapeutic properties are less well known. Aromatherapists use it to help treat depression, as it is said to impart feelings of happiness and strength (which is why we have long used it in our LXR Anxiety and Zen Grounding Blends). Rosewood oil also helps calm the mind and prompt hormone secretion. Another popular use of rosewood oil is for skin care. It has tissue-regenerating properties that help prevent wrinkles and premature aging and also works well for preventing a variety of skin conditions.

Possible Uses:

Add 1 to 2 drops of rosewood essential oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and use it to improve your skin’s overall health and appearance.
