DIY Eyebrow gel in 9 Simple Steps:
Things You’ll Need
-Empty mascara tube (2)
-Mini plastic funnel
-1/2 teaspoon powdered gelatin or agar powder
-Wood mixing stick
–Lavender essential oil
-Heat-proof jar or bowl
-1/2 cup warm water
Slowly add the gelatin or agar powder to the warm water. Agar powder is the vegetarian version of gelatin. Both ingredients strengthen hair follicles.
Warning: Do not add all of the powder at once. Otherwise, it will form clumps.
Mix the water until the powder is completely dissolved.
Add 3-6 drops of lavender essential oil.
Lavender essential oil nourishes hair, making it beneficial for eyebrow hair growth.
Alternative essential oil options include rosemary, thyme, cedarwood and grapeseed. These oils naturally stimulate hair growth. To use one of these oils in your eyebrow gel, add 3-6 drops in place of the lavender oil.
For extra benefits, use a combination of two or three essential oils. Add 2-3 drops of each oil.
Warning: Do not add too many drops of essential oil. This may prevent the gel from hardening properly.
Mix well with a wooden mixing stick to evenly disperse the oil throughout the mixture.
Remove the brush and rubber stopper. Place the funnel in the tube.
Carefully pour the liquid mixture into the tube.
Fill the mascara tube until there is about 1/2 inch of space left. Do not fill the mascara tube to the top to leave room for the wand.
Place the brush back into the tube, without the rubber stopper. Let sit for 4-8 hours until the mixture becomes a gel consistency.
Tip: To speed up the process, place the tube of eyebrow gel in the refrigerator.
Once the gel has settled, move the brush in and out of the tube to break up the gel.
Insert the rubber stopper back into the tube. This will remove excess gel each time you take out the brush.
Store in a cool, dry place. Discard the gel after three months. Before reusing the tube and brush, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
