We often get asked, “what are some manly oils?” so with Father’s Day right around the corner let’s talk about three of our favorites! Whether you’re looking for a new “scent”, natural deodorant, or diffuser blend, we have something for YOU.
The General Rundown
Cedarwood (juniperus virginiana)
PROPERTIES: Anti-inflammatory, Astringent, Antiseptic, Diuretic, Insecticidal, Sedative
USES: ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Acne, Calming and Insect Repellant
SCENT: Base Note; Woody
APPLICATION: Aromatically and Topically (NOT Internally).
PROPERTIES: Antidepressant, Antifungal, Antispasmodic, Insecticidal, Sedative
USES: Anxiety, Body Odor, Fluid Retention, Insect Repellant
SCENT: Base Note; Earthy, Rich, Woody Undertones
APPLICATION: Aromatically, Internally, and Topically
Vetiver (vetiveria zizanioides)
PROPERTIES: Antiseptic, Antispasmodic, Immunostimulant, Stimulant, Sedative
USES: ADD/Focus, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia
SCENT: Base Note; Earthy, Heavy, Sweet Undertones
APPLICATION: Aromatically, Internally, and Topically
Recipes
1) Hard-Working Man Tips:
- Place 1-2 drops Cedarwood or Patchouli on cotton balls throughout your workshop to keep spiders, moths, and other insects away.
- Diffuse 1-2 drops Vetiver with 2-3 drops Wild Orange for an uplifting, grounding aroma to work in.
- If you drive a lot for work, keep a diffuser (like the Tasa) in your car to destress and uplift while you drive.
1) Rest-Easy Repellant is great to take when you’re camping outdoors. The oils have a calming effect on YOU while making little critters scurry away. Simply shake and spray as needed.
2) DIY Deodorant: Planning to strut your stuff on the Green? Try this woodsy deodorant to keep you smelling fresh and feeling confident.

Ingredients:
-2 T grain alcohol or high-proof vodka
-2 T Witch Hazel
-1/4 c water
-8 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree) EO
-10 drops Lavender EO
-5 drops Patchouli EO
-2 drops Vetiver EO
Directions:
In a 4oz glass spray bottle combine essential oils and gently swirl to combine. Measure in the alcohol, witch hazel and water and shake well to combine. Apply to clean underarms.
3) Man Cave Relaxation Diffuser Blend. Need to relax after a long day? Too much stress and not enough Yoga? Try this diffuser blend to help you mediate, relax, and get ready to sleep.
