Get a Whiff of This!

Ylang Ylang! The often un-heralded oil, that smells amazing, is a great mood enhancer and helps keep hormones in balance. Thus making it the perfect oil for deodorant and body sprays! {Click here for more info and diffuser blends for Ylang Ylang} So, without further ado, here are three fabulous recipes that you’ll be glad you tried.

Ylang Ylang Travel Powder Deodorant

20-25 drops Spark Naturals Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
2.3-oz Spark Naturals Glass Jar
1/8 Cup Baking Soda
1/8 Cup Corn Starch
1/2 tsp Uncooked Rice (to reduce moisture)
Cotton Ball or Powder Puff

Add baking soda and Ylang Ylang into your glass jar and stir until it becomes a damp powder. Stir in corn starch and rice; mix well.

To Use:
Using a cotton ball or powder puff, apply to underarms as needed.

Sweet Ylang-Ylang Bath Melts

2/3 Cup Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter
1 T. Sweet Almond Oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil
25 Drops Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil
Dried Petals of Choice (rose or lavender are commonly used)-Optional
Silicone Mold or Ice Cube Tray

Add shea butter and sweet almond oil into a glass jar. Place in a pan of water over medium heat until it melts completely. Carefully remove from the hot water (the jar will be extremely hot). Add the Ylang-Ylang essential oil into the jar and stir. Place a small amount of dried petals in your molds and then pour the shea butter mixture into the mold. Allow the bath melts to set in the fridge until solid. Pop them out of the mold and store in a glass jar in the fridge until ready to use.

To Use:
Add one bath melt to your warm tub water and wait for it it melt. Relax in the pleasant aroma of your moisturizing bath.

Ylang-Ylang Bergamot Body Spray

4-0z Glass Spray Bottle
1/3 Cup Distilled/Purified Water
1.5 TBSP Witch Hazel
8-10 Drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
2-4 Drops Bergamot Essential Oil

Combine water and witch hazel in the glass spray bottle. Add essential oils and gently shake to combine.

To Use:
Gently shake before each use. Spray onto body where desired (typically underarms, wrists, and neck).
