I love to cook! I love the slicing, dicing, and satisfaction of eating something I made myself. But then comes the not-so-fun part: cleaning the dishes (and let’s be honest, sometimes it’s not until the next day!). If you’re like me and you need to get all the dried on (or burnt on) crud off your beautiful dishes and pans (especially during the holidays), give these natural dish soap and dishwasher detergent a try!
Uplifting Citrus Dish Soap
16 Ounce Squirt Bottle
Liquid Castile Soap
10 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
6 Drops Bergamot Essential Oil
4 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
2 Drops Tangerine Essential Oil
Mostly fill a 16 oz squirt bottle with liquid castile soap with a little space at the top (to shake). Add in essential oils and shake before each use. Add 1-2 tablespoons to hot/warm dishwater.*
Lavender Dishwasher Detergent
20 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
2 Cups Borax
2 Cups Washing Soda
Combine all ingredients in a closable container (tupperware, mason jar, etc). Add 2 Tablespoons to the dishwasher for each load of dishes.
The mountain of dirty dishes can be daunting at times, but hopefully with these quick solutions you will be able to clear the mountain and enjoy life much quicker. Do you have other tried-and-true cleaning solutions? Post them in the comments below!
*Pro Tip: Add 1/2 cup lemon juice or vinegar to your dishwater for your extra greasy dishes.
